How the BPM estimate works
- Starts after two taps The first tap records the start time, and the BPM appears from the second tap.
- Keep a steady rhythm Tap the same beat 10 to 15 times so brief timing errors have less effect on the average.
- Start a new tempo Pause for more than two seconds, then tap again to begin a separate measurement sequence.
Yes. On a desktop, you can tap any keyboard key to enter beats quickly and accurately. On mobile devices, tap the round TAP button in the center of the screen with your finger to measure BPM the same way.
Yes. Live music and human timing often include small variations or swing instead of perfectly quantized beats. The Tap to BPM tool calculates an average from your recent tap intervals. After about 10 to 15 steady taps, the displayed value usually stabilizes close to the actual BPM.
