Calculation assumptions
Keep these assumptions in mind when reading monthly income and yield.
- Annual dividendsUse either dividend per share per payment and frequency or an average annual gross yield based on current price.
- Monthly averageAnnual after-tax dividends divided by 12; the actual payment calendar is not modeled.
- Currency conversionEach holding uses its manually entered rate, and the latest rate for the same currency pair is prefilled for the next holding.
Frequently Asked Questions
▼No. It is annual after-tax dividends divided by 12. Quarterly, semiannual, and annual payers may distribute income unevenly, so actual monthly cash flow can be different.
Use the per-payment amount when you know the announced dividend per share. Use average annual yield when you only know an approximate gross yield based on current price. Payment frequency is still used to estimate the after-tax amount per payment date.
Current price is used for current dividend yield and market value. Average cost is used for yield on cost. You can leave either value at zero and still calculate dividend income.
No. The calculator does not connect to a market-data or brokerage API. Enter the amount of base currency equal to one unit of the holding currency, along with tax, price, and dividend assumptions. The latest rate entered for the same currency pair is reused as the default for the next holding.
Use it to total estimated annual and monthly-average income across several holdings or quickly explore how quantity and dividend changes affect cash flow. It is not investment advice or a return guarantee.
